Tags and Broadcast Groups allow you organize your contacts for quick mass-messaging. Whether you are sending a one time mass message or setting up a drip campaign, they allow you to define a subset of your audience from your full contact list.
Broadcast Groups
Broadcast Groups differ from Tags in that they are intended to represent a higher level grouping. For example, you could define a Broadcast Group for “Contacts in Virginia” wherein you intend to use that group to message large amounts of contacts.
Tags
Tags offer more granular list building. They can be used for targeted messaging but they differ from Broadcast Groups in that a contact can have multiple tags. In the example above, where a Broadcast Group was used to define all contacts in a state, within that subset you may have Tags to identify contacts in specific counties, or their roles in an organization. Tags are intended for detailed refinement of lists without having all the organization at the top-level by way of Broadcast Groups.
